Breaking the Multiverse: What We Know About Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse Movie!

Oscar Isaac, Issa Rae, Daniel Kaluuya, and Jason Schwartzman are among those who have joined the Oscar-winning animated franchise However, there's a casting announcement that Sony Pictures is keeping under the cloak of secrecy. That is Scarlet Spider. Scarlet Spider, a character that comic book lovers among you will know is Peter Parker's clone Ben Reilly.

Speaking to Total Film, director Joaquim Dos Santos told Total Film, "I can't wait for people to hear who voices him. It's not yet out, but I love the character of our Scarlet Spider character."

It's not outside the realm of the possibility that Scarlet Spider will be used as an opportunity to give Tom Holland, Tobey Maguire or Andrew Garfield a voice cameo. However, it sounds like Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse will have a bigger cameo than whoever performs the Spider-Man clone...



Miles Morales returns for the new chapter in the Oscar-winning Spider-Verse saga, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. After reconnecting with Gwen Stacy, Brooklyn's full-time and friendly neighborhood Spider-Man is sucked into the Multiverse, where he encounters the group of Spider-People charged with protecting its very existence.

However, when the heroes fight over how to deal with an upcoming danger, Miles finds himself pitted against the other Spiders and must redefine what is an hero to save the people who he cherishes the most.

Today is Earth Day, an annual celebration that aims to highlight global concerns and encourage the necessary steps to safeguard the environment. But, Sony Pictures Animation is also using it as an occasion to promote  Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse  that takes place on multiple Earths. On Twitter the official Spider-Verse Twitter account celebrated Earth Day by releasing four new images from the film with each one highlighting an individual Earth.

The first photo is on Earth-1610, the location of Miles Morales. If you glance at the lower right side you'll see Miles and Gwen enjoying an upside-down moment.
